Rising Stars: RuthAnne

15 08 2019

RuthAnne, an Irish singer/songwriter, began writing songs at the age of 17, and despite some impressive credits, including five tracks on Niall Horan’s 2017 solo album Flicker, is only now gaining recognition for her own vocals and stepping into the spotlight as a singer.

In July this year, her debut single, The Vow, was played during ITV2’s Love Island final, catapulting her to the top of the Irish iTunes chart, following 15,000 Shazams. Signed to independent record label The Other Songs (co-founded by Alastair and Billy Webber), RuthAnne has also received support from BBC Radio 1 presenter MistaJam, who released a remix of her new single Unrequited in August, after her track Superman was featured as his Jam Hot Song in May. The Dublin born artist, who’s supported Alanis Morrissette and Hozier on tour, is set to drop her debut album in October this year, coinciding with a London headline show at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen.
